Overview
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Chatama guide transfers you to a lodge in Arusha for an overnight. The next day you drive to Tarangire National Park — two full days of game drives covering the park's riverbeds, swamp areas, and woodland zones. On day four you head north via Lake Manyara, stopping at the Tanzanite Center, before ascending to the Ngorongoro highlands. Day five takes you into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day on the crater floor with packed lunch. Day six you drive to Central Serengeti via the Ngorongoro conservation area, visiting a Maasai Boma on the way. Two days of extended game drives in Central Serengeti follow — then on day eight you drive north to the Northern Serengeti. Days nine and ten are full days on the banks of the Mara River — exploring the river banks and open plains of the Northern Serengeti. These are the days where the Great Migration river crossings happen. On day eleven, you fly to Kilimanjaro to connect with your international flight.

DAY 2
Tarangire National Park – Day 1
Your guide drives you to Tarangire National Park for a game drive and check-in at the lodge. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and baobab trees.

DAY 3
Tarangire National Park – Full Day
A full day of game drives in Tarangire, exploring different areas of the park including riverbeds and swamp areas. Packed lunch in the field.

DAY 4
Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Highlands
After early breakfast you leave Tarangire, pass through Lake Manyara National Park where most of your daytime is spent, stop briefly at the Tanzanite Center, and drive to the Ngorongoro highlands for check-in and dinner.

DAY 5
Ngorongoro Crater – Full Day
You drive into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game drives carrying packed lunch. In the late afternoon you ascend the crater rim and return to the lodge.

DAY 6
Drive to Central Serengeti via Maasai Boma
You drive to Central Serengeti via the Ngorongoro conservation area, visiting a Maasai Boma on the way. You arrive at camp in the late afternoon for check-in and dinner.

DAY 7
Central Serengeti – Full Day
A full day of game drives in the Central Serengeti. Known for exceptional cat sightings year-round — leopards, cheetahs, and large lion prides.

DAY 8
Drive to Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, your Chatama field guide game drives you north to the Northern Serengeti, taking packed lunch on the way. You arrive late afternoon for check-in and dinner at a camp near the Mara River.

DAY 9
Full Day Northern Serengeti – Mara River
After early breakfast, your guide leads you on an extended morning drive to explore the river banks of the Mara and the open plains of the Northern Serengeti. You take packed lunch to eat somewhere under a tree. This is where the Great Migration river crossings happen — thousands of wildebeest and zebra crossing into crocodile-filled waters.

DAY 10
Full Day Northern Serengeti – Mara River
A second full day on the Mara River. The crossings are unpredictable — some days you witness multiple crossings, other days the herds build up on the bank before going. Either way, the Northern Serengeti in peak season delivers the most concentrated wildlife experience in Africa.

DAY 11
Departure
On the eleventh day you fly to Kilimanjaro to connect with your international flight back home. Alternatively, fly to Arusha for an overnight depending on your international flight time.
